Annual Report 2016-17:

1) Vive La France
Date: 20th August
Venue: S3
Time: 11:30
The 20th of August marked the first event of the French Forum, a new endeavor in itself with ‘Vive la France’ an insight into France celebrating it's culture history and literature.
With an immense participation of over a 100 students, the event was a huge success. We were honored by the presence of Dr.VasumathiBadrinathan, a profound academic since almost three decades, she is a part of the Department of French of the MU, an Invited speaker in international conferences across the globe, visiting professor to universities overseas, and an active researcher with several international publications to her credit, thus a true French connoisseur. Being a former faculty at Podar, she was accompanied by our beloved Lata ma'am, Vice Principal, Junior college.
The event began with a small presentation about France followed by a song and French trivia. Further, the chief guest felicitated the HSC toppers of French (2015-16). We were then delighted by the encouraging words by the chief guest sharing her experiences, giving an overlook into France, career options and her passion thus fuelling the students to pursue the language in the true sense.
Hence the event ended elegantly with a lot of enthusiasm: the French way!

2) Movie screening: Les choristes (The Chorus)
27th September, the French Forum organized a movie screening at S1 supported with enthusiasm and cinematic joy.
‘The Chorus’, an award winning jewel of the French cinema was enjoyed by the students beyond the barriers of language. With an audience of over 50 students, the forum sees its goal realizing as there were audiences not just from the French classes but also FY and TY BCom. Tears, giggles and suspense, the audiences sensed the French feel along as the story unfolded!
The Forum thus plans to keep another screening soon encouraged by the response.
