The academic year 2015-16 has witnessed a successful rise in participation and innovation as it introduced two new revolutionary events.
The Circle declared the year open with a brand new event - 'Much Wow' where participants were to prepare innovative comic strips from newspaper cuttings provided to them. College Vice Principal Prof. Lata Shetty and the forum Chairperson Prof. Mamta Sharma not only graced the event with their presence but also sportingly participated by making one of the most witty and educational comic strips. Dakshil Patel & Yash Oza were the undisputable winning team!
The second event – Word Games was not far behind with 36 participants. After many exciting rounds of word games ranging from Taboo, Pictionary and 21 Questions, Ram Keshwala & Sanjana Deshpande were declared winners of the competition.
After the phenomenal success, the forum organized the annual Spin - A - Yarn on popular demand. Participants are to weave a story based on a starting line and incorporating elements displayed on the screen as they appear. Dakshil Patel & Dhruv Gavde were crowned the winners after they left the audience in splits with their wit and humour.
This year, we at English Literary Circle of 2015 -16 are proud to announce the birth of a new legacy - 'Humans of Podar' Under the guise of a competition, ELC has put up a page that will forever host the stories, experiences and opinions of everyone who has for however brief a span of time and however remote a reason been associated with Podar. Due to overwhelming response of a growing community of over 900 Podarites online, we have decide to continue this initiative of telling stories without declaring winners.
The Literary Treasure Hunt is conclusively the most awaited event of the year for all language aficionados. It is the flagship event of the English Literary Circle with clues spread all over the college, participants racing against time with an infectious zest for quest. As is the tradition every year, it will be held on the day of the closing ceremony of the club which is expected to be in February.
Another significant development the club made this year was growing its online community to over 1200 people!

Vaibhav Laddha and Priyadarshini Venkataraman of SYJC gave all the degree college students a run for their money by winning the competition. The second event – Spin a Yarn was not far behing with 22 teams. Activities conducted during the year 2013-14:
The English Literary Circle is one of the oldest forums of R.A. Podar that rose like a Phoenix this year. The academic year kick started with a renewed interest to include our Junior college counterparts too. We began with 'Game of words', a thrilling four round challenge which put the best of wits to test. Among the massive turn out, SYJC students Chaitanya Khot and Shangun Sharma took home the prize.

As a slight deviation from the usual essay writing competition, the forum introduced a Fan Fiction Writing contest, to keep pace with the multitude of blogs cropping up. The participants were each given two Fiction characters and the one with the best extrapolation ( Ms. Apurva Kedrekar of S.Y.B.com - Harry Potter and Edward Cullen) bagged the title.

As they say, no Literary club is complete without a Spelling Bee. But this year, it was with a twist - it was Reverse Spelling Bee. Sumanth Kamath of S.Y.B.Com emerged the winner.

One always saves the best for the last. The curtain was drawn with the Annual Heist, a Literary Treasure Hunt. Clues were spread throughout the college premises and each team was given word based challenges like Bulls eye, Alpha Triangles and Mensa Puzzles to move towards the next clue. At the end of the finale we had Jeetendra Khilnani of T.Y.B.Com and Utsav Sejpal of F.Y.B.Com who rose as the champions.
