On 13th December’16, A Financial health program was arranged by Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in the Conference
room of R.A. Podar College. It was organised for the Non-teaching staff of the college under the Wellness Program. It was held
by Ms. Archana Bhingarde who is a Podar Alumni, and a Financial Planner. She is working in this field for the past 25 years. She
addressed 25 non-teaching staff members of the college.
Achievements
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES-
Srinath Radhakrishnan won the Inter Collegiate Elocution Competition organized by K.B.College of Commerce and Econom-
ics, Thane.
Aditya Chitale secured the 3rd position in Paper Presentation on Unconventional Monetary Policy at Elixir VIII.
Shivani and Simran from FYBMS for secured 3rd place in debate competition conducted by SIES college.
The Mumbai University team participated in the Indradhanushya State level Inter University competition. They have won the
following prizes: 1. Ms. Duhita won first prize in light vocal. She was also part of the Indian Group song which bagged the first
prize and Folk Orchestra which also stood first. 2. Ms. Vaishnavi Phatak was part of the Folk Orchestra which won the Ist
prize, Skit which came first, and folk dance which stood second. 3. Mr. Shantanu Ranganekar was part of Skit which bagged
the first prize and One Act(Hindi) which came third.
Devashree Naik, Aditya Warange, Sandesh Ramraje, Viraj Palkar, Tushar Redkar, Hrishikesh Kadam and Shantanu Rangne-
kar (director), won first position in street play at intercollegiate festival of Mithibai college "Kshitij 16" KS college "Umeed"
SPORTS-
Sanskruti Walunj from FYJC secured a Silver medal in DSO School National in Teakwando game.
Yash Gujare, student from FYBCOM got Silver Medal at Inter-Collegiate Field Archery Competition.
Miss. Ruchi Shetty (F.Y.B.Com) won the Bronze Medal in the Inaugural Asian U18 Girls 7s which was held from 30th Nov to
2nd Dec 2016 at the Dubai Sports City in Dubai.
Senior Girls team won BRONZE Medal in Mumbai University Inter collegiate Handball Tournament.
The Team got a Hatrick win in Mumbai City DSO baseball tournament and Runner-up in DSO divisional tournament.
Sonal Sawant got 1st place in DSO Division Carrom tournament which was held on 20th November at Thane.
Junior College Girls team Won Junior Colleges Sports Association Inter-Collegiate Table Tennis tournament championship
and Boys team got 2nd Place.
Juilee Prabhu got 1st place in DSO Artistic Gymnastic Competition. She also got 3rd place in DSO Division School Artistic
Gymnastics Competition held on 20th November.
Podar Senior Girls achieved 2nd place in Inter Collegiate Table Tennis Championship. Team members :- Ruchira Manerkar,
Anuja Wadekar, Chinmayi Sawant and Uditi Shenoy .
R. A. Podar college has again won the Championship in Mumbai University Athletics meet, which was from 11th to 13th No-
vember, 2016 at Mumbai University sports Pavilion, Marine Lines.
Gaurang Ambre won Gold medal in 100m. running event. Gaurang also broke his as well as University's last year record of
10. 5sec. Gaurang won another gold medal in 200m. running event in an inter-collegiate Athletic meet.

Esha Tayade won a silver in individual routine and a gold in group routine at the 26th rhythmic gymnastic states champion-
ship. She was also honoured with Thane Mayor Cup.
Junior Girls got 2nd place in DSO State level Table Tennis tournament. Team members:- Shruti Hatangadi, Purva Pawaskar,
Bhairavi Wadekar and Ashwini Gadre.
