R.A. Podar College of Commerce and Economics is one of the few junior colleges in Mumbai which offers German as second language.

Foreign Collaboration:

The college has foreign collaboration for higher education since 2009. It runs a student exchange programme with Germany.

  • Competition:
  • A comic competition was held in November 2015 in which Ms. Vaibhavi Inamdar participated.

  • German Olympiad:
  • Qualifying round for Mumbai region was held in January 2016 in which Ms. Gandhali Medhekar, Ms. Sanjana Marathe and Ms. Saloni Chavan participated.

  • Youth Congress:
  • A youth congress on the theme sustainable living was held at Goethe Institut Max Mueller Bhavan Mumbai from 18th to 20th November in which Ms. Aishwarya Ketkar, Ms. Amruta Joshi, Ms. Aditi Bhabhe, Ms. Yuvraj Kewalramani, Ms. Sanya Khisty, Ms. Anushka Ramani, and Mr. Siddhesh Bhatkar participated.


  • Winter Camps:
  • Ms. Jaahnavi Gore, Ms. Sanika Relekar and Mr. Siddhesh Bhatkar were awarded scholarship to participate in the PASCH winter camp which was organized from 2nd to 8th January 2017.


  • National Camps:
  • Ms. Gandhali Medhekar was awarded scholarship to participate in the PASCH camp held from 25th June to 1st July 2016.
  • Mr. Aditya Bhavsar and Ms. Vaishnavi Pokhare were awarded scholarship to participate in the PASCH camp held from 16th to 22nd June 2017.
  • Mr. Anish Jadhav and Ms. Kashvi Gosrani were awarded scholarship to participate in the PASCH camp on the theme sustainable living held from 16th to 20th September 2017.
  • Ms. Chitra Kurup, Ms. Tejasvi Maskare, Ms. Aditi Malpure, Ms. Sakshi Gabhale, Ms. Tanisha Malekar and Mr. Aditya Murkar were awarded scholarship to participate in the PASCH camp held from 23rd to 29th June 2018.

  • Ms. Tanisha Malekar and Ms. Isha Jhunjhunwala were invited to participate in the photo project “Show Your City”. The photos taken by them were displayed at an exhibition in the town hall of Stuttgart in July 2018.


  • International Camps:
  • Ms. Isha Rajadhyaksha and Ms. Rameshwari More were awarded scholarship to participate in the PASCH camp held from 30th June to 6th July 2017.

German Literary Circle:

It is an initiative by the students for the students. The German Literary Circle is active under Foreign Literary Circle since 2016.
